Abstract
Criminal investigations, just like any other scientific activity, are based on information collation and analysis, and on the examination of additional relevant data that may be directly or indirectly linked to another crime or criminal. The effectiveness of criminal investigations depends on the thoroughness and accuracy of this process. The author evaluates the existing criminal intelligence network in Hungary and proposes a model for its future development. 5 figures
