Data indicated that Alaska experienced an increase in the total number of both violent and property crimes between 1993 and 1994; 13.5 percent of all crimes were violent crimes and 86.5 percent of all crimes were property crimes. Detailed data are tabulated on index crimes (murder, rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, larceny, theft, and motor vehicle theft). Data are also provided on crimes committed by jurisdiction and on police officers killed in the line of duty. Appendixes contain definitions of UCR offenses. Tables and figures
