This summary of reported crime in Arizona during 1994 notes that 1 murder, 4 rapes, 18 robberies, 54 aggravated assaults, 161 burglaries, 507 larceny thefts, 115 motor vehicle thefts, and 4 arsons were reported to Arizona law enforcement agencies every 24 hours on the average.
Abstract
The State recorded a total of 314,931 crime index offenses. The largest number of offenses occurred in October; the smallest number occurred in February. More than $350 million in property was stolen; more than $139 million in property was recovered. More than 56,000 persons were arrested for index offenses; males accounted for 76.4 percent of the arrests. The clearance rate was 18.3 percent. Violent crimes accounted for 8.9 percent of the total crime index; males accounted for 86.9 percent and females for 13.1 percent of the arrests for violent crimes. More than 271,000 persons were arrested, including 207,339 adults and 64,647 juveniles. Part I offenses accounted for 56,222 arrests, and Part II offenses for 215,764 arrests.
