The monthly totals of armed robbery, sexual offenses, theft outside dwelling, theft of motor vehicles, theft of bicycles, theft in dwelling, and housebreaking were statistically tested against temperature, effective temperature, and Webb's index of comfort and rainfall.
Abstract
The analysis showed that crimes against the person are generally positively correlated with temperature and discomfort, a result in agreement with the situation in temperate countries. The relationship between the selected weather parameters and the various crimes against property varies from crime to crime. (Publisher abstract)
