THE ITALIAN, GERMAN, AND FRENCH SCHOOLS OF THOUGHT IN THE FIELD OF CRIME CAUSES ARE DESCRIBED; THE RELATIONSHIPS OF PERSONALITY TYPE, MILIEU, AND OTHER INFLUENCES TO CRIMINALITY ARE ALSO CONSIDERED.
Abstract
THE MUCH-CRITICIZED ITALIAN, OR POSITIVIST, SCHOOL FEELS THAT CRIME IS GENERATED INTRINSICALLY BY ANTHROPOLOGICAL, PHYSICAL, AND PSYCHIC FACTORS, WHILE THE FRENCH, OR LYON, SCHOOL ATTRIBUTES THE CAUSE OF CRIME TO SOCIETY. THE GERMAN, OR SOCIOLOGICAL-CRIMINAL, SCHOOL ADMITS BOTH SOCIAL AND INDIVIDUAL FACTORS, BUT GIVES PRIORITY TO THE FORMER. TYPOLOGY OF BODY STRUCTURE, PSYCHOANALYTIC CONCEPTS (I.E., THE OEDIPUS COMPLEX), AND ENDOCRINOLOGY AS RELATED TO CRIME ARE DISCUSSED. THE INFLUENCE OF ECONOMIC MILIEU, PROFESSION, CULTURE, LITERATURE, PRESS, TELEVISION, POLITICAL ORGANIZATION, AND RELIGION ON CRIMINALITY IS ALSO TREATED. --IN SPANISH.
