In 1982, a total of 171,130 crime Index offenses were reported in Connecticut. Of these offenses, 19.4 percent were cleared.
Abstract
A total of 12,545 violent crimes were reported, a decrease of 3.5 percent from the year before. A total of 124,728 persons were arrested for all criminal acts; adults accounted for 77 percent of all persons arrested. The report discusses the Connecticut Uniform Crime Reporting Program; presents a statewide summary of crime Index offenses; and gives the value of property stolen and recovered, a statewide summary of arrest data, offense data by contributor, law enforcement officers killed or assaulted, and law enforcement employee data. Data tables and graphs comprise most of the report.
