ARTICLE DESCRIBING THE ATTEMPT TO VERIFY EYSENCK'S LOWER CONDITIONABILITY OF DELINQUENTS THEORY.
Abstract
THREE TESTS OF VERBAL CONDITIONING WERE CONSTRUCTED AND ADMINISTERED TO TWO SAMPLES OF DELINQUENTS AND TWO CONTROL GROUPS OF NON-DELINQUENTS. IN ADDITION THE TAFFEL TEST OF VERBAL CONDITIONING, THE EYSENCK PERSONALITY INVENTORY (EXTRAVERSION, NEUROTICISM AND TEST ATTITUDE) AND THE SELF-CONTROL SCALE OF THE C.P.I. WERE USED. RESULTS INDICATED THAT, EYSENCK'S OBSERVATION THAT DELINQUENTS ARE MORE EXTRAVERT THAN NON-DELINQUENTS COULD BE CONFIRMED, EYSENCK'S OBSERVATION THAT IT IS MORE DIFFICULT TO ACQUIRE CONDITIONED RESPONSES IN EXTRAVERT SUBJECTS COULD NOT BE CONFIRMED, EYSENCK'S THEORY ABOUT THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN DELINQUENCY AND CONDITIONABILITY COULD NOT BE CONFIRMED.
