Abstract
A VICE PRESIDENT OF THE NATIONAL COUNCIL ON JUVENILE AND FAMILY COURT JUDGES LISTS REFERENCES FOR FURTHER INFORMATION AND THEN REVIEWS THE OBJECTIVES AND TECHNIQUES OF TRIAL LAWYERS IN CROSS-EXAMINATIONS. NEXT, HE DEFINES COMPETENCY; JUDICIAL NOTICE; DIRECT, BEST, REAL, AND CIRCUMSTANTIAL EVIDENCE; OBJECTION TO THE FORM OF A QUESTION; LEADING QUESTIONS; HEARSAY; AND THE QUALIFICATION OF DOCUMENTS, WITNESSES, AND TESTIMONY. THEN, HE PROVIDES ADVICE ON PREPARING REPORTS AND ON PRETRIAL MEETINGS WITH ATTORNEYS, AND SUGGESTS GUIDELINES FOR BEHAVIOR ON THE WITNESS STAND.
