COUNSELORS KEEP CLOSE CONTACT WITH RELEASED OFFENDERS AND MAINTAIN GOOD RELATIONSHIPS WITH THE PAROLEE, HIS FAMILY, AND PAROLE OFFICER. PROBLEMS CONFRONTED BY COUNSELORS INCLUDE A SHORTAGE OF PERSONNEL, DIFFICULTIES WITH THE CONVICT CULTURE, RECRUITMENT OF INMATES, AND JOB PLACEMENT AND FOLLOW UP.
