Abstract
Five articles about safety and security focus on communication, victimization and recovery from it, anger control, warning signs of problems, and the use of analysis to determine staffing requirements. Eleven papers and editorials on training and motivation examine new techniques, recruitment, evaluation, and related topics. Additional papers focus on methods of avoiding the consequences of job stress, treating the aftermath of traumatic stress, drug testing, issues related to female correctional officers and to jail officers, and the roles and responsibilities of correctional managers. Photographs, reference lists, and tables.
