Abstract
THE AUTHOR TRACES THE LIVES OF THE DEFENDANTS FROM THEIR FIRST CONFLICTS WITH THE POLICE, THROUGH THEIR GRADUAL DISILLUSIONMENT WITH THE COUNTRY, AND INTO THEIR MEMBERSHIP IN THE BLACK PANTHER PARTY. THE AUTHOR INCLUDES HISTORICAL STUDY OF POLICE PROVOCATION FROM THE NINETEENTH CENTURY TO THE PRESENT, AND THEN ILLUMINATES THE PATTERN OF PROVOCATION AND ENTRAPMENT WHICH HE CLAIMS EXISTS WITHIN OUR POLICE DEPARTMENTS TODAY.
