This report describes the 1994 activities and progress of the United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute, the affiliated regional institutes, and associated institutes and centers that together make up the United Nations crime prevention and criminal justice program network.
Abstract
Priority research areas and activities for 1992-96 specified by the United Nations Economic and Social Council include (1) national and transnational crime, organized crime, economic crime, economic crime such as money laundering, and environmental protection through the criminal law; (2) crime prevention in urban areas and juvenile and violent crime; and (3) efficiency, fairness, and improvement in the management and administration of criminal justice and related systems. The United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute focused on action-oriented research, particularly on issues of concern to developing countries. Descriptions of individual research projects and reports and 7 reference notes
