THIS REPORT, DATED SEPTEMBER 1976, SOUGHT TO CONSOLIDATE, UPDATE FOR LEGAL ACCURACY, REDESIGN AND, IF POSSIBLE, AUTOMATE THE APPROXIMATELY 2,000 JUDICIAL FORMS IN USE.
Abstract
TWO ESSENTIAL ASPECTS OF THE FORMS REVISION EFFORT ARE A REVISION OF THE CIVIL PRACTICE BOOK OF 600 FORMS AND A GENERAL FORM REVISION EFFORT FOCUSING ON AN OVERALL FORMS MANAGEMENT PROGRAM. THIS REPORT CONCENTRATES ON THE MORE COMPLEX SECOND TASK. THE CONSULTANTS RECOMMENDED A COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW TO ELIMINATE, CONSOLIDATE, AND STANDARDIZE FORMS AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF A TOTAL RECORDS MANAGEMENT PROGRAM, INCLUDING PRINTING AND DISTRIBUTION, DESIGN CONTROL, STORAGE MODES, AND RETENTION/DESTRUCTION. THE SUCCESS OF THE PROPOSAL IS DEPENDENT ON THE WILLINGNESS OF THE CONNECTICUT COURT OFFICIALS TO DEDICATE MORE RESOURCES TO THE SYSTEM THAN PRESENTLY ALLOCATED....MSP
