The accomplishments of and difficulties faced by the Connecticut Judicial Branch for the period July 1, 1990 to June 30, 1992 are reported.
Abstract
The Judicial Branch of the State of Connecticut is required to submit a biennial report to the governor. In the report submitted by Chief Justice Ellen A. Peters for the period beginning July 1, 1990 and ending June 30, 1992, the highlighted activities of the judiciary include utilization of increased Federal funding for new programs addressing criminal and juvenile justice issues, expansion of efforts to ensure fairness to all minorities in all aspects of judicial and administrative operations, application of innovative assignment techniques, expansion of an alternative sanctions network, conclusion of statewide implementation of a one- day/one-trial jury service system, implementation of a specialized case management program and adoption and implementation of a policy of service excellence.
