This paper presents information on the notifications, declarations, and reservations submitted to the Secretary-General of the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime, specific to the protocols related to the smuggling of migrants and the trafficking in persons.
Abstract
In accordance with the relevant articles of the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime held in Vienna in 2004, this paper provides information on the notifications submitted to the Secretary-General and the Protocol against the Smuggling of Migrants by Land, Sea and Air. Notifications are presented for both organized crime prevention and migrants’ protocol. In addition, declarations received from states parties regarding the Conventions and the protocols are presented for organized crime prevention, and both the trafficking in persons and migrants protocol. From organized crime convention, declarations are presented by Belarus, Ecuador, Nicaragua, the Russian Federation, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan. Reservations received from states’ parties to the Convention and both protocols are provided.
