THIS IS A SURVEY OF THE JUVENILE AND ADULT CORRECTIONAL INSTITUTIONS AND PROGRAMS IN THREE CONTIGUOUS STATES, NEW MEXICO, COLORADO, AND ARIZONA.
Abstract
BECAUSE OF THE HETEROGENEITY OF THE STATES, THE SERVICES OFFERED, AND THE POPULATIONS SERVED, NO ATTEMPT IS MADE TO COMPARE THE DIFFERENT INSTITUTIONS AND PROGRAMS. THIS REPORT IS MERELY INTENDED TO INDICATE THE CORRECTIONAL RESOURCES, ADMINISTRATIVE STRUCTURES, AND UNDERLYING PHILOSOPHIES OF THE THREE STATES. THE INSTITUTION AND PROGRAM DESCRIPTIONS INCLUDE A BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND OTHER INMATE PROGRAMS, THE NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS, PROGRAM AND INSTITUTION COSTS, DEMOGRAPHIC AND POPULATION DATA ON THE INMATES AS WELL AS THE STAFF, AND GENERAL MANAGEMENT AND ORGANIZATIONAL INFORMATION. EVERY CORRECTIONAL FACILITY IN THE THREE STATES IS COVERED....MSP
