This guide to the Community Supervision Program of the Maryland Division of Parole and Probation sets out the division's current policies and procedures for classifying offenders, developing casework treatment plans, providing supervision services, and reporting on offender adjustment to the court and Maryland Parole Commission.
Abstract
The division uses the Differentiated Caseload Management System, which includes an offender intake, assignment, and classification system to assure that each parolee and probationer is classified according to established criteria. Offenders are classified under maximum, medium, or minimum supervision, and supervision services are provided consistent with these classifications. Agents develop formal treatment plans for maximum and medium supervision clients; they interview clients and complete a needs assessment followed by evaluations at 6-months and 1 year. Each agent must maintain a field book and document significant events for each case. Agents are expected to contact employers to secure employment for clients. No references are cited.
