FINAL REPORT ON A PROJECT TO FUND AND OPERATE THREE JUVENILE GROUP HOMES IN THE DENVER (CO) AREA.
Abstract
THIS PROJECT WAS UNDERTAKEN IN RESPONSE TO THE NEED FOR ALTERNATIVES TO CONVENTIONAL, INSTITUTIONALIZED METHODS OF SERVING THE JUVENILE LEGAL OFFENDER. IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE PROJECT GOALS, THREE OF THE FIVE JUVENILE GROUP HOMES OPERATED BY COMMUNITY GROUP HOMES, INC. WERE FUNDED WITH THIS GRANT, THUS FORMING THE YOUTH RECIDIVIST REDUCTION PROGRAM. THE EVALUATION METHODOLOGY INVOLVED A COMPARISON OF RECIDIVISM RATES BETWEEN CLIENTS AND CONTROLS. THE RESULTS OF THE PROJECT REVEALED THAT THE LONGER A YOUTH STAYED IN THE YOUTH RECIDIVIST REDUCTION PROGRAM, THE LESS LIKELY HE WAS TO RECIDIVATE.
