Abstract
AN OVERVIEW OF THE FORMULATION OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE STANDARDS AND GOALS IS PROVIDED IN THE FIRST SPEECH. IN THE SUCCEEDING FOUR SPEECHES, SEVERAL SPECIFIC STANDARDS OF THE NATIONAL ADVISORY COMMISSION ON CRIMINAL JUSTICE STANDARDS AND GOALS ARE DISCUSSED. SPECIFIC TOPICS CONSIDERED INCLUDE CRIME AND JUSTICE IN COLORADO, ISSUES AND CONCERNS IN LAW ENFORCEMENT, COURT STANDARDS, AND ISSUES AND CONCERNS OF CORRECTIONS. COMMENTS ON THESE SPEECHES MADE BY OTHER SYMPOSIUM PARTICIPANTS ARE ALSO INCLUDED. THE APPENDIXES INCLUDE PAPERS ON THE BACKGROUND AND FUTURE OF STANDARDS FOR CRIMINAL JUSTICE AND CITIZEN INVOLVEMENT IN CRIME PREVENTION, AS WELL AS A ROSTER OF SYMPOSIUM PARTICIPANTS.
