Abstract
CHAPTER ONE OVERVIEWS LABOR RELATIONS EXAMINING THE ORIGINS AND HISTORICAL PERSPECTIVE OF UNIONISM IN THE PUBLIC SECTOR, THE BASIC CHARACTERISTICS OF UNIONS AND THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SECTOR. THE SECOND CHAPTER CONCENTRATES ON POLICE UNIONS BY FOCUSING ON THE HISTORY OF POLICE UNIONS, THEIR STRUCTURE, THE REASONS THE POLICE ORGANIZED, THEIR GOALS, AND THEIR POLITICS AND RESPONSIBILITIES. CHAPTER THREE CONSIDERS LEGAL RIGHTS AND ACTIVITIES WHICH ARE INVOLVED IN THE LABOR RELATIONS PROCESS.
