Abstract
Data on the population of adult corrections institutions encompasses average daily population and rated capacity by month, the female average daily population and rated capacity by month, and the average daily population per month by type of facility. Data on the characteristics of resident inmates within institutions cover distribution of offense by location and distribution of location by race and Hispanic origin, violent crime convictions among inmates, age, sentencing authority, race and Hispanic origin for female inmates, and county of conviction. Data on characteristics of resident inmates also address distribution of offense by race and Hispanic origin, age distribution over the last five fiscal years, distribution of offense category over the last five fiscal years, and the percentage of violent compared with nonviolent crime convictions over the last five fiscal years. Data on admissions to prison cover such data as admissions and releases by month; type of admission; age, race, and sex; and admissions by type of admission and sentencing authority.
