FINAL EVALUATION OF A PROJECT TO ASSIST CLEVELAND AREA YOUTH AGENCIES IN DELIVERING EXISTING SERVICES TO AND MEETING UNMET SERVICE NEEDS OF DELINQUENT AND POTENTIALLY DELINQUENT YOUTH.
Abstract
THE PROJECT PROPOSED TO ADDRESS THE PROBLEMS OF FRAGMENTARY OR DUPLICATED SERVICES CAUSED BY YOUTH SERVICES AGENCIES OPERATING INDEPENDENTLY OF ONE ANOTHER BY PROVIDING YOUTH COORDINATORS IN THE AREAS DEFINED AS THE NINE REGIONAL PLANNING COMMISSION CLEVELAND SOCIAL PLANNING AREAS (SPA). TWO DATA COLLECTION FORMS WERE DEVELOPED TO GATHER DATA ELEMENTS FROM THE PROJECT ABOUT THE SOCIOECONOMIC BACKGROUNDS AND CRIMINAL HISTORIES OF CLIENTS AND TO EVALUATE PERFORMANCE OF FIVE SPECIFIC TASKS OUTLINED FOR THE PROJECT EXTENSION PERIOD MODIFYING AND EXPANDING ORIGINAL YNC (YOUTH NEIGHBORHOOD COORDINATORS) OBJECTIVES. THE EVALUATORS FOUND THAT YNC WAS PERFORMING IN ACCORDANCE WITH ITS OUTLINED TASKS AND FUNCTIONS DURING 1974. APPENDED INFORMATION LISTS CLEVELAND AREA YOUTH-SERVING AGENCIES AND PROVIDES COPIES OF PROJECT DATA COLLECTION INSTRUMENTS.
