Abstract
DIFFERENCES IN THE MEANING OF THE OFFENSE ARE RELEVANT TO UNDERSTANDING THE OFFENDER, PREDICTING HIS FUTURE BEHAVIOR AND INTERVENING IN HIS LIFE IN A USEFUL WAY. A CLASSIFICATION SCHEME IS IMPORTANT TO A CORRECTIONAL SYSTEM AS A MANAGEMENT AND TREATMENT TOOL.
