Abstract
Volume I contains guides, outlines, and visual aids useful in presenting information to persons involved in managing a clandestine laboratory program. The second volume, the resource notebook, provides information that further develops and supports the material outlined in the first volume. Module I in volume I examines the impact that clandestine laboratories have on the safety of police officers, prosecution effectiveness, and community security. Module II discusses the basic procedures, techniques, and requirements for initiating a clandestine laboratory investigation; and Module III features procedures for ensuring officer safety in the seizure of a laboratory. Module IV describes procedures, equipment, and clothing required for handling hazardous materials likely to be found in a clandestine laboratory. Module V provides specific instructions for using the following equipment: a self-contained breathing apparatus, an air purifying respirator, and field monitoring equipment. Module VI discusses the review, evaluation, and critique of a clandestine laboratory investigation.
