THIS ARTICLE DISCUSSES ORGANIZED CITIZEN INTERACTIONS WITH CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM COMPONENTS FROM THREE STANDPOINTS AND MAKES SPECIFIC RECOMMENDATIONS FOR ACTION.
Abstract
THE DISCUSSION INCLUDES PRESENT WAYS THAT CITIZENS PARTICIPATE, RECRUITMENT TACTICS, AND WAYS FOR GROUPS TO INITIATE MEANINGFUL INVOLVEMENT. RECOMMENDATIONS ARE MADE TO HEALTH, LABOR, MEDIA, AND VOLUNTEER ORGANIZATIONS TO VOLUNTEER THEIR SERVICES TO CRIMINAL JUSTICE AGENCIES AND RECOMMENDATIONS ARE MADE TO CRIMINAL JUSTICE AGENCIES TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THESE RESOURCES.
