This report represents the workload of the Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court Service Units for fiscal year 1982. These units provide diversionary and supervisory services for those juveniles and adults referred to the Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Courts of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Abstract
The total number of services completed by the Juvenile Court Service Units has steadily increased from 1979 to 1982. Although the juvenile population under 20 years of age has decreased by over 30,000 in the last 3 years, the juvenile probation/supervision rate per 100,000 population has increased from 427 in 1980 to 475 in 1982. Data are given on intake; transfer, social history, foster care, and other reports; probation/supervision cases; aftercare supervision in direct care; family counseling; and aftercare supervision in the community. Tables, maps, and graphs comprise most of the report.
