This report is the fifth annual on the health status and service needs of America's children.
Abstract
Bringing together data from various sources, the booklet describes the health of children in various developmental stages, measures children's health against World Health Organization indicators, and identifies new and recurring threats to children's health. The first section provides general population data to set a context for the measures of health status and services utilization included in the two following sections. The data in those sections are presented for the broad developmental stages of infancy, childhood, and adolescence. The final section contains State-specific data on infant health which show the variability among States on basic health measures.
