The book contains a section of informative documents relating to child and family law as well as a section with separate bibliographies and regulations on a variety of topics pertaining to family law.
Abstract
The documents include memos relating to protection of individual rights, the death penalty, criminal records of minors, placement of minors for resocialization and training, and financing educational measures ordered by the court. Subjects also treated are responsibilities of juvenile judges for wards of the state, expulsion of foreign juvenile offenders, the exercise of parental authority, intervention of the Public Prosecutor in cases of abused children, and Brazil's new juvenile code. The bibliographies and regulations cover specific topics: adoption, parental authority, divorce, social laws governing such matters as aid to mothers and families, legal protection, marriage, reeducation and special protection of minors, and addiction. Literature cited in general criminal justice areas is restricted to family law considerations. These general areas include criminology, criminal law, the police, penalties, treatment of foreigners, civic responsibilities, and criminal and civil procedures. Appendixes contain documents cited in the first section.
