Abstract
An introduction surveys careers from a broad perspective, listing specific occupations in each criminal justice division. Within each division, the nature of the work, general employment data, training and advancement, and earning potential are covered. Levels of employment (Federal, State, local, private), educational requirements, character assessment, physical and mental requirements, employment trends, and application procedures are also set forth. An appendix lists sources of additional career information for each division. Succeeding chapters focus more closely on each field. Wherever appropriate, the descriptions detail (for positions within that division) job opportunities, benefits, responsibilities and duties, specialization and advancement, requirements (i.e., education, experience, age, physical and mental status, background), and related information. An index is provided. (Publisher's summary modified)
