Abstract
INFORMATION IS PRESENTED ON THE COSTS IN THE CANADIAN CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM BOTH AS THEY ARE DISTRIBUTED AMONG THE VARIOUS SUBSYSTEMS AND AS THEY ARE DISTRIBUTED AMONG LEVELS OF GOVERNMENT. A DESCRIPTION OF THE APPLICATION OF RESOURCES TO THE CANADIAN CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM IS FOLLOWED BY A DESCRIPTION OF THE COSTS THAT ARE APPLIED TO THESE RESOURCES. THE FINAL SECTION IS DEVOTED TO COMMENTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS REGARDING THE COLLECTION OF COST DATA FOR THE SYSTEM.
