THE DIRECTORY LISTS THE NAMES AND ADDRESSES OF 136 VOLUNTEER PROGRAMS LOCATED THROUGHOUT THE STATE, AND THE TYPES OF SERVICES PROVIDED BY VOLUNTEERS IN EACH PROGRAM. ADDITIONAL DATA PROVIDED INCLUDES PROGRAM TELEPHONE NUMBERS AND THE NAMES OF VOLUNTEER COORDINATORS. A SUMMARY OF THE RESULTS OF AN EIGHT-ITEM SURVEY OF YOUTH AUTHORITY AND DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS AGENCIES, SHERIFFS' AND POLICE DEPARTMENTS, AND COUNTY PROBATION DEPARTMENTS ON THE EXTENT AND NATURE OF VOLUNTEER UTILIZATION IS ALSO PROVIDED. TABLES AT THE END OF THE REPORT PROVIDE CATEGORICAL DISTRIBUTIONS OF VOLUNTEER UTILIZATION.
