This report presents data on California felon parolees for calendar year 1991.
Abstract
As of December 31, 1991, there were 77,120 California felons on parole, an increase of 11, 700 parolees since December 31, 1990. The parole population was 90.5 percent male and 9.5 percent female. The largest group of felons on parole were originally committed for controlled substance possession (13.7 percent of the population). The next largest group was committed for controlled substance possession for sale (9.3 percent of the population). Those committed for robbery accounted for 9.1 percent of the parole population. The total number of parolees is presented by sex and region and by controlling offense and region. Male and female felon parolees are also tabulated by controlling offense and region. The total population is presented by racial/ethnic group and region, and these data are further broken down by males and females. The total parole population by age group and region is also broken down by males and females. The report includes a map of the California counties and parole regions, charts, and narrative of felon parolee characteristic for 1991, and a list of offenses by offense categories. 10 tables
