ANNUAL ACCOUNTING OF CALIFORNIA COMPENSATORY EDUCATION PROJECTS IN TERMS OF THEIR EFFECTIVENESS IN MEETING THE SPECIAL EDUCATION NEEDS OF DISADVANTAGED STUDENTS.
Abstract
THE REPORT IS DIVIDED INTO EIGHT SECTIONS AND COVERS PROGRAM ADMINISTRATION AND EVALUATION, NEEDS ASSESSMENT, LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT, MATH, AUXILIARY SERVICES, INTERGROUP RELATIONS, STAFF DEVELOPMENT, AND RECOMMENDATIONS. THE SECTIONS ON LANGUAGE AND STAFF DEVELOPMENT ARE THE MAJOR COMPONENT ACTIVITIES AUTHORIZED UNDER THE CALIFORNIA STATE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION ELEMENTARY AND SECONDARY EDUCATION ACT GUIDELINES. THE PRIMARY SOURCES OF INFORMATION ARE THE PROCESS EVALUATION AND PROGRAM REVIEW CONDUCTED IN THE SPRING OF 1973, REPORTS OF TEST SCORES SUBMITTED ON A MONTHLY BASIS BY EACH INSTITUTION, SPECIAL STUDIES CONDUCTED BY RESEARCH STAFF, AND AN ANNUAL QUESTIONNAIRE FILLED OUT BY PROJECT PERSONNEL.
