This annual Criminal Justice Profile supplements and expands on the data provided in the Criminal Justice Statistics Center's "Crime and Delinquency in California."
Abstract
The first section of the report presents trend data for crimes, arrest dispositions, corrections populations, criminal justice personnel and expenditures for the years 1986-1995. The second section focuses on 1995, showing data for each county, and for each contributing jurisdiction within the counties. An Appendix contains data limitations and characteristics, a glossary of criminal justice terms used in the report, and lists of the penal and other statutory codes included in each felony and misdemeanor arrest offense category. Crime and arrest rates were calculated using annual population estimates provided by the Demographic Research Unit, California Department of Finance. The at-risk population categories were redefined to exclude persons 70 years of age and over. Information on juvenile felony and misdemeanor arrests is included in the Arrests section of this report. Dispositions of adult felony arrests data for individual counties and agencies were not available for 1995.
