This resource guide provides links to give service professionals a handle on understanding survivor- and trauma-informed care, language access planning, cultural competency and humility, as well as outreach strategies. Resources are divided into sections: The Human Trafficking Capacity Building Center, with tools that provide guidance on serving victims of human trafficking, with tips on language for policy and procedures, creating intentional partnerships with human trafficking survivors, and implementing a trauma-informed approach; Office for Victims of Crime Training and Technical Assistance Center (OVC TTAC), which provides guidance on how an organization can become trauma-informed and how to modify policies and procedures beyond the scope of human trafficking; the National Human Trafficking Training and Technical Assistance Center, providing a toolkit for reviewing survivor-informed practical strategies and how to incorporate them into a developing organization; Project Trust’s Resource Library, which includes webinars and publications on trauma, case management, crisis response and safety planning, and trauma responses; and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, which provides a framework for helping systems “talk” to each other in order to better understand the connections between trauma and behavioral health issues.
