Abstract
This account describes the process by which people ascribe to the racist and "Christian Identity" philosophies promulgated by white supremacist groups such as the National Alliance, the Ku Klux Klan, the Aryan Nations, and The Order. Taking its inspiration from a book called The Turner Diaries, which described a white supremacist group that overtook the United States through a campaign of terror and race warfare, the inner workings of The Order included deception, code names, counterfeiting, and assassination lists. The Order carried out numerous armed robberies, including the theft of $3.6 million from a Brinks armored car. In addition, Order members murdered several perceived enemies, the most well-known of whom was Denver radio talk show host Alan Berg. The undercover FBI operation, the arrests and death of The Order's leader, and the trial are detailed.
