THE RESULTS OF A COMPARATIVE PROSEPCTIVE STUDY OF 50 BRIGHT DELINQUENTS FIRST SEEN AT THE LONDON REMAND HOME BETWEEN MAY AND NOVEMBER 1967 AND A MATCHED GROUP OF DELINQUENTS OF NORMAL INTELLIGENCE.
Abstract
ALL BOYS IN THE EXPERIMENTAL GROUP HAD IQ'S OF 115 OR OVER; THE I.Q.'S OF THE 50 BOYS IN THE CONTROL GROUP FELL IN THE 90-105 RANGE. THERE WERE NOT SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE TWO GROUPS IN RECIDIVISM, NUMBER OR TYPE OF OFFENSE, OR IN THE WAY THAT THE OFFENSES COMMITTED IN THE FOLLOWUP PERIOD WERE DEALTH WITH. IT IS CONLCUDED THAT HIGH INTELLIGENCE MAKES NO DIFFERENCE TO PROGNOSIS, AT LEAST OVER THE THREE-YEAR FOLLOWUP PERIOD. REFERENCES ARE PROVIDED.
