HISTORICAL OVERVIEW OF NEGRO VIOLENCE IN THE UNITED STATES TENDING TO SHOW THAT RETALIATORY VIOLENCE HAS NEVER BEEN ENTIRELY ABSENT FROM NEGRO THINKING.
Abstract
IN MOST OF THE INCIDENTS DESCRIBED, THE TYPICAL PATTERN WAS INITIAL NEGRO RETALIATION TO WHITE ACTS OF PERSECUTION AND VIOLENCE, AND WHITE PERCEPTION OF THIS RESISTANCE AS AN ORGANIZED, PREMEDITATED CONSPIRACY TO TAKE OVER, THUS UNLEASHING THE MASSIVE ARMED POWER OF WHITE MOBS AND POLICE.
