After providing an overview of the Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS) Criminal Justice Working Paper (CJWP) series, this report explains the guidelines for the features and submission of a CJWP for inclusion in the series.
Abstract
The BJS Criminal Justice Working Papers series is a forum for providing a "preliminary analysis of substantive, technical, and methodological issues." At the time of their submission, they are works in progress presented to share work experience and knowledge that will encourage discussion, scholarly debate, and feedback on the research. The guidelines for the review process prior to acceptance for the series are provided, along with parameters for the paper's content. Other guidelines address author eligibility, the intended audience, publishing procedures, and the dissemination process. Online access is provided to the latest CJWP, "Federal Sentencing Disparity: 2005-2012."
