Abstract
THE AUTHOR FIRST DISCUSSES THE VALUE OF AVERSIVE TREATMENT (PUNISHMENT) AND THE ADVANTAGES OF USING BEHAVIORAL TECHNIQUES IN COUNSELING. AMONG THE BEHAVIORORIENTED TECHNIQUES OUTLINED IN THIS ARTICLE ARE RESPONSIBILITY THERAPY IN WHICH CLIENTS RECOGNISE THEIR PROBLEMS AND DEVELOP NEW HABITS; CONTRACT PSYCHOLOGY; AND GRADED PRIVILEGE AND RESPONSIBILITY, BASED ON THE CLIENT'S SUCCESS IN MEETING TREATMENT COMMITMENTS.
