The curricula contained in this document are designed as a guideline for the delivery of performance-based law enforcement training in traffic enforcement.
Abstract
The goals of instruction on Traffic Enforcement are to provide students with: an understanding of the purposes of traffic laws and traffic law enforcement; knowledge of traffic laws; skills necessary to effectively direct and control traffic; knowledge of laws and techniques related to driving under the influence; knowledge of laws related to the storage and impound of vehicles. Required topics include: laws and violations, officers' duties, officers' authority, how to prepare requisite reports, concepts of traffic enforcement. There is a topical list of supporting materials, with samples of requisite forms. Annex, references
