This eighth edition of the "Banking Law Journal Digest" is a collection of digests of important court decisions that have appeared bimonthly in the "Banking Law Journal."
Abstract
Since the inception of the journal in 1899, each issue has included discussions of leading Federal and State court decisions in the law of banking, commercial paper, trusts and estates, bankruptcy, and other subjects of practical interest to bankers and attorneys with a banking practice. This edition continues the topical format of the previous edition. Parts I through III include the broad headings of "Banking," "Bankruptcy," and "Trusts and Estates." Parts IV through VI cover commercial law and follow the general organization of the Uniform Commercial Code including the areas of Commercial Paper, Deposits and Collections, Letters of Credit, Investment Securities, and Secured Transactions. This eighth edition has been updated, with out-of-date cases deleted and hundreds of new cases added. The major topical units have been edited and refocused to reflect new developments in the law. Older cases of enduring precedential value have been retained. This edition will be updated with regular supplements. The first supplement includes new cases that have been selected to illustrate important recent developments in banking, bank regulation, bankruptcy, trusts and estates, commercial paper, deposits and collections, letters of credit, and secured transactions. The supplement is to be read in conjunction with the eighth edition and follows the organization of the main volume. Cumulative table of cases and a subject index
