              The report discusses the organization, establishment, and services of the Australian Commonwealth Police Force and describes its major activities and overseas operations for the year ending June 30, 1979.
          Abstract
              The Force's specialist services (document examination, neutron activation analysis, crime intelligence, bomb center, forensic science research, etc.)  are described, and their activities are delineated. For example, the Force has established by contrast a forensic science research program in external scientific agencies.  The projects undertaken include research into speaker identification by computer, examination of disputed tape recordings, and others.  Other major activities involve the currency squad, the companies squad (investigating corporate crime), the firearms testing bureau, the communications section and fingerprint bureau, counterterrorist operations, and security for public officials. Information is given on police awards, discipline, promotions, and appeals, and on expenditures. Tables and a graph are included.
