THIS REPORT CONTAINS A REVISION OF PROGRAM GOALS, OBJECTIVES, AND PRIORITIES BASED ON ANALYSES OF 1972 CITY TARGET CRIME DATA.
Abstract
A DESCRIPTION OF THE CITY AND THE ATLANTA-FULTON COUNTY CRIMINAL JUSTICE PROCESS IS FOLLOWED BY A DETAILED ANALYSIS OF THE FIVE IMPACT TARGET CRIMES OCCURRING IN ATLANTA IN 1972, INCLUDING DATA ON THE VICTIM, THE OFFENDER, AND CRIMINAL JUSTICE PROCESSING. OFFENDER-BASED TRANSACTION STATISTICS ARE PROVIDED ACCORDING TO TARGET OFFENSE. IN ADDITION, STATISTICS ARE PROVIDED ON TARGET OFFENDER RECIDIVISM. A REVISED IMPACT PROGRAM PLAN AND STRUCTURE ARE THEN PRESENTED BASED ON THESE DETAILED ANALYSES. INCLUDED ARE DESCRIPTIONS OF EXISTING AND ANTICIPATED PROJECT GRANTS AND ESTIMATES OF THEIR INDIVIDUAL CONTRIBUTIONS TO IMPACT PROGRAM OBJECTIVES. THE FINAL CHAPTER OF THIS REPORT RELATES THE SUMMARY RESULTS OF A STUDY THAT WAS CONDUCTED TO DETERMINE THE EXTENT OF CRIME DISPLACEMENT THAT HAS TAKEN PLACE IN THE ATLANTA METROPOLITAN AREA AS A RESULT OF IMPACT PROJECTS.
