ARIZONA'S PLAN FOR COMPLYING WITH FEDERAL REGULATIONS REGARDING THE PRIVACY AND SECURITY OF CRIMINAL HISTORY RECORDS COLLECTED, STORED, AND DISSEMINATED BY AGENCIES RECEIVING LEAA SUPPORT IS PRESENTED.
Abstract
THE PLAN PROVIDES GUIDANCE TO STATE AND LOCAL AGENCIES IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS: COMPLETENESS AND ACCURACY OF RECORDS; LIMITATIONS ON THE DISSEMINATION OF CRIMINAL HISTORY INFORMATION; AUDITS AND QUALITY CONTROL PROCEDURES; PHYSICAL SECURITY OF RECORDKEEPING FACILITIES; AND INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS TO ACCESS AND REVIEW. THE PLAN INCLUDES AN INTRODUCTORY OVERVIEW WITH ATTENTION TO THE SCOPE, APPLICABILITY, EFFECTIVE DATES AND GENERAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE REGULATIONS, PENALTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES FOR IMPLEMENTATION. DEFINITIONS, A DESCRIPTION OF ARIZONA'S CRIMINAL JUSTICE DATA SYSTEM, OBJECTIVES AND GUIDELINES RELATIVE TO EACH OF THE AREAS NOTED ABOVE, CERTIFICATION MATERIALS, AND SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION ARE ALSO PROVIDED.
