This report provides statistics on the nearly 11,500 persons sentenced to the correctional programs of the Hong Kong Correctional Services, its drug addiction treatment centers, training centers, and detention centers.
Abstract
The first section of tables presents general characteristics on the inmates including age, previous convictions, offense, type of sentence, length of sentence, education, occupation, and marital status. The second section focuses on drug dependent persons, the type of drug used, methods of administering the drug, length of drug dependence, and causation. Finally comparative statistics for 1987 and 1988 are presented on variables including sentence patterns and offenses and daily average prison populations. 58 tables.
