This report details the major actions taken by the more than 75,000 employees of the Department of Justice to fulfill its legal and law enforcement goals during 1987.
Abstract
Program priorities included drug law enforcement, efforts to address organized crime, counterterrorist measures, and law enforcement directed against white-collar crime and corruption of public officials. Other activities focused on prison and jail overcrowding and immigration reform and border enforcement. Further efforts related to coordination and improvements in criminal justice, legislative and regulatory reform, international cooperation, further automation of information processing and telecommunications, and management improvements.
