Abstract
These markets would be greatly increased after 1985, with annual sales exceeding $1,200 million in the residential market, $180 million in the government market, $360 million in the commercial and industrial market, and $59 million in the agricultural market. The efficiency of currently available flat-plate solar collectors in California ranges from 35 to 95 percent. Developments to improve efficiency are underway, which in turn should improve the market. The report discusses solar energy technology, currently available solar panels, National Aeronautics and Space Administration contributions to solar technology, a market forecast for solar panels, and a cost/benefit analysis.
