PART TWO OF PROCEEDINGS OF CONFERENCE ON DRUG ABUSE CONTAINS TEXTS OF DISCUSSIONS AND PROGRAMS APPROVED BY CONFERENCE PARTICIPANTS.
Abstract
THE SEMINARS WERE DIRECTED TOWARDS THE FORMULATION OF A COMMUNICATIONS STRATEGY FOR THE DISSEMINATION OF PROGRAMS OF RESCUE AND PREVENTION IN THE FIELDS OF EDUCATION, CRIMINAL JUSTICE, COMMUNITY, MEDIA, AND VOLUNTEER SERVICE. INCLUDED IN THIS PUBLICATION ARE THE REVISED BYLAWS FOR A PRIVATE, NON-PROFIT CORPORATION TO CARRY OUT THE ALFY (A NEW LIFE FOR YOU) PROGRAM. THIS COMPANY WAS DESIGNED TO CREATE PUBLIC AWARENESS OF PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS, AND TO HELP COMMUNITIES IMPLEMENT PROGRAMS. PART TWO OF THE CONFERENCE PROCEEDINGS CONSISTS OF THE TEXT OF INFORMAL INTRODUCTIONS OF NEW PARTICIPANTS, THEIR PROGRAMS, AND OTHER TRANSCRIPTS FROM THE FIRST DAY OF THE CONFERENCE. LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS FOR SETTING UP A DRUG COUNSELING CENTER AND THE RATIONALE AND ROLE FOR VOLUNTEERS ARE ALSO DISCUSSED. IN ADDITION, BIOGRAPHIES OF CONFERENCE PARTICIPANTS ARE INCLUDED.
