SUMMARY OF A PROGRAM DESIGNED TO MEET THE EXECUTIVE DEVELOPMENT NEEDS OF POLICE AT THE MIDDLE MANAGEMENT LEVEL.
Abstract
THE REPORT POSITS THAT THE COMPETENCE AND GROWTH OF KEY POLICE PERSONNEL OFTEN DETERMINE THE ATTAINMENT OF THE GOALS SET BY THE CHIEF EXECUTIVES OF THE ORGANIZATION. OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAM WERE TO STIMULATE THE PARTICIPANTS TO OBJECTIVELY EXAMINE THEIR JOB PERFORMANCE AS MANAGERS, PROVIDE KNOWLEDGE OF SOUND MANAGEMENT PRINCIPLES, INCREASE INTEREST AND INFORMATION IN CURRENT TRENDS IN MANAGEMENT THINKING AND PRACTICES, PROVIDE A FREE ENVIRONMENT FOR THE EXCHANGE OF IDEAS, AND TO CHALLENGE THE PARTICIPANTS ABOUT THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF AN EXECUTIVE AT THEIR LEVEL. THE SUMMARY EXPLAINS STUDENT SELECTION FOR THE PROGRAM, THE PROGRAM SCHEDULE, METHODOLOGY, CURRICULUM AND PROGRAM EVALUATION.
